Quest protein chips vs Legendary protein chips

The two protein chip lines we track, bag for bag.

Protein chips are one of the few savory snacks that can compete with bars on protein. We compared the two chip lines we track, every flavor, on grams of protein per 100 calories.

Verdict: Quest's chips win on protein per calorie (13.6 vs 12.5): 1 g less protein per bag, but 20 fewer calories.

What the numbers say

Close on protein, apart on calories. Quest is 19 g for 140 calories a bag; Legendary is 20 g for 160. Legendary's extra gram comes with 20 extra calories, which is why Quest scores higher.

Both beat most bars. Quest's chips score higher than 31 of the 39 bars we track, and Legendary's higher than 27. Flavor doesn't matter within either line: all 4 Quest flavors and all 5 Legendary flavors share the same numbers.

Price and bag size. We recorded Legendary at $3.57 a bag (brand-site 7-pack), or $1.78 per 10 g of protein. We don't have a Quest chip price yet. Quest lists a 32 g bag (59.4 g of protein per 100 g); Legendary lists "1 bag" without a weight, so we can't compare density.
